| About me: | My name is Betsy Alber and I was born and raised in San Francisco, California. My professional career started out as a Real Estate Agent and then the owner of BA Travel. After completing an extensive course in travel technology June 1998 I became a Cyber Travel Specialist. A dedicated and proficient Internet Travel Specialist and as a result I created and launched BA Travel.com and later Batravelandcruise.com. My services include not only experience and knowledge; but, the expertise to get the best value for your money without compromising the quality and luxury of a fantastic honeymoon or vacation. | Favorite destinations: | My favorite destination is the Caribbean. I have traveled throughout the Caribbean island hopping for many years spending a great deal of time on Barbados, BVI, USVI, Cayman Islands, Grenada, Jamaica, Curacao, and many other islands as well. I have also enjoyed spending time on all of the Hawaiian Islands. It is just a 5 hour flight from SFO. I have cruised from island to island and I have been to Mexico a number of times.My first experience of going to the Caribbean was In the 70's. I was a Real Estate Agent I had the opportunity of going to Grenada to view and list a fabulous villa for sale with my husband and two other couples. As we approached the first island of Martinique I was so overwhelmed by such beauty of the azure sea and the beautiful white sand beaches as we landed. I knew that this is a place that I would somehow be involved with in the future. We were going to stay at the villa for a week, but we decided that since we are going there we might as well go to a few islands and spend some time exploring the Caribbean. We spent time on Martinique, Trinidad, Curacao and Barbados. The last island we visited was Barbados and we stayed at the luxurious Sandy Lane Hotel and enjoyed it so much we decided to stay on a few more days. From that moment on I felt that we would return again and again. We have gone back many times to Barbados, USVI, BVI, Grand Cayman, Jamaica, Bahamas island hoping and cruising many times. | |||||
| About my recent vacation: | My husband and I spent a wonderful romantic getaway at Sandy Lane Hotel Barbados for our Anniversary. It was our third time in several years since we had spent our Anniversary there and it had been completely refurbished twice since the first time we were there. After 3 years of redeveloping the entire property to ensure that it maintains its eminence in the 21st century, Sandy Lane Hotel and Golf Club has reopened as the premier luxury resort in the world it still had the same wonderful welcome and exclusive luxury experience. When we arrived we were greeted by a welcome as warm as the Barbadian sunshine, with freshly chilled, scented towels and iced glasses of tropical fruit punch. After we had a brief orientation of the resort we were taken to our room where we had personalized in-room registration. Sandy Lane is set in an ancient mahogany grove overlooking a 1000 foot crescent of gorgeous white sand beach. There is a 47,000 square foot spa, nine floodlit tennis courts and 45 holes of championship golf.
