"13-hour time differences and non-refundable costs, a Travel Advisor never takes no for an answer.”
Clients were to cruise out of Singapore and the cruise was canceled. The cruise line was only offering a certain amount of reimbursement for non-refundable costs. I completed the request forms for the clients, so all they had to do was sign. Then, I repeatedly contacted the client's hotel, on Singapore time (13 hours ahead), until I'd plead our case enough to secure a refund. This was about $1,000, as the clients planned on being in Singapore for several days prior to cruising.
An online booking site or a site that's first priority isn't travel, won't put in the time, effort, or extremely after-hours calls to make things happen for their clients.
It all underscores exactly why YOU SHOULD ALWAYS USE A TRAVEL ADVISOR.
